Prerequisite:  Placement based on HSPT and 8th grade teacher recommendations
 
Students in this course will acquire the algebraic skills necessary for success in future math courses.  Topics covered include: solving and graphing (one and two variable) linear equations and inequalities, problem solving, factoring, solving systems of linear equations, rational expressions, simplifying radicals, fractional exponents, imaginary numbers, and an introduction to linear and quadratic functions.  This course is the foundation for further mathematical understanding and success.
