Courtney has been a certified athletic trainer at St. Pius X High School since 2015. She previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at West Des Moines Valley High School from 2012-2015. She received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa in 2012 and her master’s degree in exercise science from University of California Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania in 2014.

St. Pius X High School is proud to employ a full-time athletic trainer on staff to provide our student-athletes an enhanced level of healthcare. All student-athletes participating in a sport will have access to this comprehensive model. The enhanced level of care includes, but not limited to, athletic training services and expedited care to physical therapists, sports medicine family physicians, chiropractic care, and orthopedic surgeons.

The sports medicine team strives to utilize prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, referral, and rehabilitative techniques in an effort to return student-athletes to his/her respective sport in the most expedited and safest manners possible.
