Scholar Bowl:
The St. Pius X Scholar Bowl Team competed Saturday at the Lakeland Winter Invitational. The B team went 3-5 and had the best performances of the year from Ashley Hall, Anna McKellar, and Erica Sarmiento. The A team went 7-1 and finished in 1st place in their best tournament of the year. Charlie Gengler was the third highest individual scorer and he was joined by Anna Cernich. Alyssa Hall, and Cole Harms in a balanced team effort.

We use an automated telephone broadcasting system to communicate School Closings to you. For snow days, the call will be launched between 5:30 - 6:30 a.m., or the night before if we know ahead of time. The Caller ID will display 816-453-3450, which is the main number for SPX. Mr Murphy's Weekly Counseling Newsletter has an important ACT section for all parents to keep you abreast of current information. ACT Corner Be advised--it is highly recommended that each student have a genuine ACT score on file by the end of sophomore year. FYI--any student interested in ACCP PreCalculus or ACCP College Algebra will need a genuine 21 Math score prior to enrollment.

ACT Prep Class
Mr. Murphy will offer an ACT prep class for the February test starting Jan 12 at 11 am. Each session goes 2.5 hours -- there are 4 of them on consecutive Saturdays; in addition, there is a final review during seminar Jan 7th. If interested, email Mr. Murphy to get on the list, and then pay either by check or online. Fee is $65.
JOB OPENING
The Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph has an opening for a full-time Director of Hispanic Ministry. This position promotes the full participation and integration of Hispanics in the life of the Church, and will collaborate with other chancery offices to provide consultation, expertise and support to parishes, schools and other apostolates. An undergraduate degree in Theology or related field is required, Graduate degree is preferred. A minimum five (5) years in Hispanic ministry or related field, with fluency (written and verbal) in Spanish and English is also required.
