Cross Country
The boys finished 3rd at the Conference with Richard Humiston earning 2nd team all-conference. The girls were conference champions with Gretchen Rock winning the race. Anna Cernich and Ford Nelson were also first team all-conference and Kate Parrish and Maeve Sanborn were 2nd team. Also Courtney won the JV race with Kate B (2nd) Delaney (4th) Sophia (6th) and Lauren (7th). Our girls sported pink ribbons in their hair in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and the boys even got into the spirit with headbands and ribbons tied to their shoes! Great job to all!
SCHOLAR BOWL TEAM
The Scholar Bowl team competed Thursday at the Lee's Summit West Titan Novice Tournament. The 2 person team amazed their competitors by winning 4 of their 5 matches to claim 5th place out of the 16 teams in attendance. Steven Sharp and
Victoria Reyes teamed together very well and Steven was a medalist as the third highest individual scorer with an amazing 83 points per game. The novice players will be in action on November 2 at North Kansas City.
Eagle Scout Award
SPX Junior, Gabe Elliott, became an Eagle Scout through St. James Troop 214 on Wednesday, Oct 23rd. Among many of the requirements for Eagle Scout rank is an Eagle Scout project. Gabe chose to build and install a wooden Gaga Ball Pit on the playground at St. James School. It is being used in heavy rotation during recess, PE, and parish youth group. Great job Gabe!
