Dear St. Pius X Community,
As a St. Pius X alumnus and current administrator of the school, it is a privilege to write the opening letter for this website about
St. Pius X High School. Here are the many aspects that separate
St. Pius X High School from other high schools in the Northland:
• 98% of our graduates go onto college
• Traditionally 65% receive college grants and scholarships to the colleges they attend
•Effective discipline that promotes an atmosphere for learning
• Enforced grooming and dress codes
• Daily prayer and a value-centered approach in every class
• A non-existent drop out rate
• High expectations for student behavior and achievement
Today, close to 400 students of various backgrounds attend St. Pius X and take advantage of our well-balanced college preparatory curriculum. The curriculum challenges the students and equips them with the skills that they need to excel in today’s colleges and beyond. Our 2022 graduating class of 76 students was awarded over 5 million dollars in grants and scholarships for college and earned an average composite score of 23.6 ACT test.
St. Pius X attributes its success throughout the years to the four key elements that we offer our students (Catholic or not) who want a quality education with a daily interspersing of Christian values and morals. In accordance with our mission statement-St. Pius X High School educates the whole student-intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our goal today remains the same as has been for over 65 years -- to offer each of our students an “Education for Life.”
St. Pius X is a vital asset to Kansas City's Northland. Growth in any community is dependent upon the quality of its schools. St. Pius X offers an alternative to public secondary education in the Northland. Businesses and business leaders, who look to move into the Northland, consistently look at the quality of education as a deciding factor to move into our community. As a member of the Northland Education and Business Alliance (NEBA) St. Pius X is proud to be one of the strong educational institutions in the Northland. We invite the Northland Community to visit our school and learn more about our tradition of spiritual and academic excellence.
