A Turning Point works to support families by providing basic needs and education equipping families for self-sufficiency. They have a food pantry, community meals, clothing closet, support groups, Guesthouse and more!
Redemptorist Social Services Center, a nonsectarian, 501(c)3 non-profit agency, has provided a lifeline to the poor and elderly of metropolitan Kansas City. Their comprehensive programs of Emergency Client Assistance, Senior Services, Legal Assistance and Health Maintenance meet the basic needs of individuals facing chronic poverty; the working poor; the elderly; the homebound and the homeless; the long term and the newly unemployed.
Blessings Abound Thrift Store is a Christian not for profit organization called to serve the metro Kansas City Community by selling and recycling donated merchandise in order to provide aid to people in need.
United Way of Greater Kansas City uses its experience and expertise to assemble the best service agencies and programs and the most generous volunteers and donors to provide the farthest-reaching network of support for those in need in the Greater Kansas City area.
Operation Breakthrough provides a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and empowers their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education. Volunteers are needed as classroom volunteers in early childhood 1-5 years rooms, in school-age rooms, MakerSpace, Robotics, Coding, clothing closet, and handing out prepackaged food to families.

Historically, the KCIA student body has included students from all over the world. Students and families at KCIA represent 21 different countries from Africa, Asia, and South America and speak at least 15 different languages. Most of our students come from families experiencing economic challenges.
Girls on the Run Greater Kansas City teaches critical life skills to elementary and middle school girls through a program of empowerment, dynamic interactive lessons, and physical activity.
The Little Sisters of the Poor is an international congregation of Roman Catholic women religious founded in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan. Together with a diverse network of collaborators, they serve the elderly poor in over 30 countries around the world. NourishKC's goal is to provide food security for those who live in Kansas City. They do so by serving a meal to those who live on the streets every weekday at lunch and on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
Project Uplift takes several vans out onto the streets of KC every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday to meet the homeless where they are at with a hot meal, clothing, and toiletries.

The Northland Christmas Store is a combined effort of many Clay County churches, organizations, and individuals to provide a happy and dignified Christmas season for needy families.
A 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that works with professional and major college sports teams to provide free dental care and oral health education to at-risk children throughout the country. They throw “Dental Tailgate Parties” to create an awesome lifetime experience for the at-risk children that they serve; they help with set-up and break-down for our three programs in Kansas City: Chiefs, Royals and Sporting KC; additionally, they help within our inventory and storage areas, and possibly additional tasks from time to time.
The Sewing Labs is a non-profit organization teaching the legacy of sewing for employment, entrepreneurship, and enrichment to individuals who find themselves in at-risk situations and lead them into lives filled with financial dignity through the skill of sewing. We are located in the Don Bosco Community Center in Columbus Park.
Bridging The Gap (BTG) works to make the Kansas City region sustainable by “connecting environment, economy and community,” and is the premier organization in the area providing environmental education and volunteer action through more than 1,500 volunteers annually.
Project C.U.R.E. is the world's largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and services to doctors and nurses in more than 135 developing countries. Volunteers are needed to sort, pack, and warehouse medical suppplies.
