Courtney has been a certified athletic trainer at St. Pius X High School since 2015. She previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at West Des Moines Valley High School from 2012-2015. She received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa in 2012 and her master’s degree in exercise science from University of California Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania in 2014.

St. Pius X High School is partnered with SERC Physical Therapy to provide student-athletes an enhanced level of healthcare. All student-athletes participating in a sport will have access to this comprehensive model. The enhanced level of care includes, but not limited to, athletic training, physical therapy, and care from physicians and orthopedic surgeons.
 
The sports medicine team consists of a certified Athletic Trainer, orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine family physician, and physical therapist who will strive to utilize prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, referral, and rehabilitative techniques in an effort to return student-athletes to his/her respective sport in the most expedited and safest manners possible.
 

Elizabeth "Lizz" Stoutenborough
Certified Athletic Trainer

Lizz has been a certified athletic trainer with SERC Physical Therapy since 2018. She received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri in 2014, and her graduate degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida in 2017. She has previously served as an athletic trainer for Calvary University in Belton, Missouri from 2018-2023. 
Lizz is here each Tuesday.
