The Tribe system reflects the St. Pius X High School mission of instilling an attitude of lifelong learning in the development of all students’ spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical gifts. The Tribe system fosters student growth and enhances Catholic values and principles with authentic student and teacher relationships.
St. Pius X is divided into four smaller groups, or Tribes. Each tribe consists of five families with students from all grades. These families will serve as a home base for the students and will provide students with trusted adults they can turn to. Within the tribes, we hope to foster the following ideals:
Tribe Chief
The Tribe Chiefs are the face of the Tribe/Family System to the larger school community. They represent the school at public events, helping to spread the Gospel and the mission of St. Pius X to those outside of our four walls.
The Tribe Chief will be a senior selected by the faculty and tribe members.
Tribe Leader
The Tribe Leader will be an upperclassman elected to the position by their Tribe. They will provide the highest level of student leadership for the St. Pius X school community and be a role model for all other students. One Tribe leader will focus on Service and one will focus on Spirit for the SPX community. There will be six Tribe Leaders at St. Pius X, 2 from each Tribe. 1 Tribe Leader will serve as Secretary chair and 1 Tribe Leader will serve as Communications Chair. Tribe Leaders will be elected by their Tribes.
Class Leaders
Each Tribe will have two (2) Class Leaders per grade, 6 per tribe. The Class leaders will serve as a liaison between the Tribe Council and their grade. The Class Leaders will be in charge of class responsibilities (homecoming, Prom, spaghetti dinner, class service opportunities). They will also lead committees and help plan and organize Tribe/Family activities. They will also be responsible for informing their class and families of up coming events.
Family Leaders
Family Leaders are the most important leaders in the school. Their ability to facilitate relationship building in their Families is what will determine how much success we have. By putting in the work to ensure that every meeting of their Family has a plan and a purpose, they are helping to create an environment and atmosphere of shared purpose and attention to the duties we owe to each other.
