2022 GIUSEPPE SARTO AWARD
Carrie Emmons
In October at our Inaugural Warrior Gala we bestowed the 2022 Giuseppe Sarto Award to Carrie Emmons.
Since August of 2016, Carrie Emmons has volunteered her time, talent and treasure throughout her daughter Finoula’s ‘20 time at SPX, and still continues to do so today. Carrie has spent countless hours planning, coordinating, meeting, and working on behalf of St. Pius X. Whether she is helping in the cafeteria, or assisting with an admission event, hosting an event at her home, or working the Warrior Pride Booster Club Table at the Football Games, managing the production of the Warrior Pride Athletic Program, or setting up or cleaning up for any activity, Carrie has performed each task with a thoroughness and eloquence that is truly admirable.
Her work and dedication on revitalization of the Warrior Pride Booster Club is truly commendable. As a member of the Warrior Pride Booster Club, she is involved in every aspect. Her efforts in spearheading the Fall, Winter and Spring Athletic Programs are exceptional. She has spent innumerable hours working with coaches as well as our graphic designer to produce beautiful programs that honor our students and promote our school. She recently agreed to serve as a chair for the up coming 2023 Warrior Gala.
Carrie always has our communities’ and students’ best interest in her heart, willing to work diligently to improve the quality of life and the essence of education at St. Pius X. She believes in our mission and is an advocate for our school. Carrie, along with her husband Mike, established the Emmons Choir Music Scholarship in 2020. The scholarship has not only lessened the financial burden on some SPX families, but has also boosted our amazing Music Program.
Carrie Emmons is truly a remarkable and enthusiastic woman! Guided by her passion for St. Pius X, Carrie exemplifies the kind of volunteer that every school would love to call their own.
The Giuseppe Sarto Award is given in recognition of outstanding service to St. Pius X High School. In general, it is intended to show appreciation for significant and voluntary contribution to the advancement of the school. It can be awarded to any one in the St. Pius X Community.
The first recipients of the awards were Bob Griggs, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Lewis and Mr. & Mrs. Carl Schembri in 1969. Last year's recipient was Carrie Emmons. Carrie is truly, to use the cliche, a "one in a million" - there are few volunteers who consistently exhibit the time and energy necessary for every project she has underataken for St. Pius X. She is an inspiration for all of us, and her actions and comittment to St. Pius X have truly enhanced the spirit of the St. Pius X community.
